whatifWE llc ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Patina Garage mobile application. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
The following data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework and, if enabled, synced via your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to this data.
When you use AI-powered features, your requests are routed through our proxy server before being forwarded to Google's Gemini API. This allows us to manage API access, enforce usage limits, and monitor for abuse. The following data is transmitted:

When AI requests pass through our proxy server, we collect and store the following for usage tracking and abuse prevention:
We do not store the content of your AI requests or responses. Vehicle specs, project descriptions, audio, and video pass through our server in transit to Google but are not logged or retained by us. Only the metadata listed above is stored.
Powers the AI Project Planner and Live Sessions features. When you use these features, your vehicle information, project details, and (for Live Sessions) audio and video are routed through our proxy server and forwarded to Google's servers for AI processing. Your API key is held server-side and never stored on your device. This data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Gemini API Terms of Service.
If you connect Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses for hands-free Live Sessions, the Meta Wearables SDK facilitates the Bluetooth connection and video streaming from your glasses. Video frames are sent directly to the Gemini API and are not stored by us. The glasses connection is subject to Meta's Privacy Policy.
We use Apple's StoreKit for subscription management and iCloud for optional data sync. These are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Your vehicle and project data remains on your device and/or your personal iCloud account until you delete it. Uninstalling the app removes all local data. iCloud data can be managed through your Apple ID settings.
Server-side usage data (anonymous device ID, usage counts, and timestamps) is retained for billing and abuse prevention purposes. This data is automatically aggregated by calendar month. Usage data older than 12 months may be deleted.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion of personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have direct control over it at all times. For any CCPA-related requests, contact us at the email below.
Patina Garage is not intended for use by children under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app involves vehicle repair guidance which is intended for adults.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
