By using Patina Garage, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Service Description

Patina Garage is a vehicle maintenance and project tracking app with AI-powered features, operated by whatifWE llc. The app helps you organize vehicle information, plan maintenance projects, track trips, and get real-time AI assistance.

Age Requirement

You must be at least 17 years old to use Patina Garage. The app provides vehicle repair guidance and involves inherent safety risks that require adult judgment and responsibility.

Subscriptions

• Some features require a paid subscription.
• Subscriptions are billed monthly through Apple's App Store.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings.
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods. Refund requests should be directed to Apple.

AI-Generated Content

The AI Project Planner and Gemini Live features provide suggestions and guidance. This content is generated by artificial intelligence and should be used as a reference only.

• Always verify repair procedures with official service manuals.
• AI suggestions may contain errors and may not account for your specific vehicle's condition, modifications, or wear.
• We are not responsible for any damage resulting from following AI-generated advice.
• Professional mechanic consultation is recommended for complex or safety-critical repairs.
• Torque specifications, part numbers, and fluid capacities generated by AI should always be cross-referenced with factory documentation.

Third-Party AI Data Sharing

By using AI features, you acknowledge and consent to the following:

• All AI requests are routed through whatifWE servers before being forwarded to Google's Gemini API. This allows us to manage API access, enforce usage limits, and prevent abuse.
• When you use the AI Project Planner, your vehicle specifications and project description pass through our server and are sent to Google's Gemini API for processing.
• When you use Live AI Sessions, real-time audio and video (from your device camera or connected Meta Ray-Ban glasses), along with your vehicle and project context, are streamed through our server to Google's Gemini API.
• We collect an anonymous device identifier and usage metadata (request counts, session durations) for rate limiting and abuse prevention. We do not log or store the content of your requests or AI responses.
• This data is processed by Google subject to their Privacy Policy and API Terms of Service.
• You may choose not to use AI features, in which case no data is transmitted to our servers or third parties.

Meta Smart Glasses

If you use Meta Ray-Ban glasses with Patina Garage:

• The Meta Wearables SDK facilitates the connection between your glasses and the app.
• Video from your glasses is streamed to the Gemini API during Live Sessions only.
• You are responsible for complying with applicable laws regarding recording in your jurisdiction.
• Always inform others if you are recording or streaming video in shared spaces.
• The Meta Wearables SDK is currently in developer preview. Meta glasses features in Patina Garage will be available to all users after the public SDK release.

Safety & Situational Awareness

• Do not use Live Sessions, camera features, or glasses features while operating a vehicle or machinery.
• Maintain awareness of your surroundings at all times when using audio or visual AI features.
• Ensure your work area is safe before engaging with AI assistance.
• Remove glasses and pause sessions when performing tasks requiring full visual attention.

Reasonable Use

Subscription tiers that include "unlimited" features are intended for normal, personal use related to vehicle maintenance and project management. We reserve the right to limit or throttle access to AI-powered features if usage patterns indicate abuse, automated access, or activity inconsistent with the intended purpose of the app. If limits are applied, we will notify you and work to resolve the issue.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app.
• Share your subscription credentials with others.
• Attempt to bypass usage limits or subscription restrictions.
• Use the AI features to generate content unrelated to vehicle maintenance.

Intellectual Property

Patina Garage, its design, code, and branding are the property of whatifWE llc. Your vehicle data, photos, and project information remain yours. We claim no ownership over content you create in the app.

Limitation of Liability

Patina Garage is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. whatifWE llc shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to vehicle damage, personal injury, property damage, or data loss. You acknowledge that vehicle repair carries inherent risks and assume full responsibility for any work performed based on information from the app.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
